The trek fee Rs 8550 includes all costs of the trek from the moment you land at Lohajung till the trek gets over.

Specifically, the cost includes the following:

• Cooks
• Porter charges
• Services of a trek leader
• Home stay cost at Didina
• Home stay cost at Lohajung (2 nights)
• Local transport from Wan to Lohajung

Please Note: Service Tax of 3.09% is payable on the trek fee.

Train ticket booking: Indiahikes does not book any train ticket from Delhi to Kathgodam or return. Instead, for booking of more than 3 participants, the 3AC train fare is deducted from the trek fee payable. Participants have to make the train booking themselves.

Transportation: The cost of transport from Kathgodam to Lohajung and return has to be borne by the participant. Indiahikes has arrangements with local transporters to pick up trekkers from Kathgodam railway station. The vehicles are available at the station from 6.00 am on the day of the participants arrival at Kathgodam. The vehicles are connected with the arrival of the Ranikhet Express from Delhi which reaches Kathgodam at 6.40 am.

The transportation from Kathgodam to Lohajung and return transport from Lohajung to Kathgodam can be arranged by Indiahikes for you. The payment for the transport has to be made directly to the transporter. Transport is usually arranged in a Sumo with 6 people sharing a Sumo. A Sumo costs Rs 5,000 and the cost has to be shared by the participants. In unusual cases a Sumo may travel with 4 or even 7 participants. Participants are expected to share the cost likewise.

Most participants opt for the Indiahikes pick up – and we assume the same in your case. In case you do not want the Indiahikes pick up, please let us know at least 20 days in advance to the start of the trek. Cancellation: If for some reason you wish to cancel your trek, an email intimation needs to be sent to This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it . Cancellation requests are not taken over phone. However, you can phone to check whether your cancellation has been processed.

The cancellation charges are as under:
Cancellations prior to 30 days from the start of the trek -- full refund.
Cancellation between 30 days and 20 days to the start of the trek -- 50% refund. 
Cancellation less than 20 days to the start of the trek -- no refund.

Drop out during trek: If for some reason a participant has to drop out from the trek on any day  then Indiahikes will make arrangements for his/her return to Lohajung base camp. If on the return transportation is involved between Wan and Lohajung or Kuling and Lohajung, then the transportation cost has to be borne by the participant. Usually a vehicle costs Rs 900. Stay at Lohajung would be borne by Indiahikes.

Backpack carrying: Indiahikes expects all trekkers to carry their own backpacks with personal belongings. All common gear will be carried by the support team. If for some reason a trekker is unable to carry his or her backpack, he/she can offload the same by paying an addition charge of Rs 200 a day per backpack.

Who can trek at 50% concession:

Doctors: At Indiahikes, safety of a trek comes first. You will experience it first hand on the slope. Your team is accompanied by experienced trek leaders, safety gears, high end trek equipment, high altitude first aid kits and most importantly the right information. As an initiative in this regard we want to encourage doctor trekkers to function as team doctors. If you are a doctor on the trek and would like to function as the team doctor let us know immediately. Team doctors are allowed to do the trek at 50% cost. The only conditions are that you need to have done one another high altitude trek before and only one doctor is allowed to be a team doctor per team. Amateur photographers. At Indiahikes, we also believe a trek is a lot more than walking in the mountains. We would like to encourage skilled amateur photographers to share their skills of photography with other members of the trek.
